Many of you have heard us talk about Hidden Springs Mission and our heart for the Navajo people. For the next few weeks, we want to share our girls’ thoughts about our move and life here on the Reservation.
Meet Evangeline who loves Navajo Tacos!
Evangeline McRae is our youngest. She’s ten years old and is currently in the 4th grade. She loves playing the ukulele and one of her special gifts is asking all the questions about all the things.

Why do you think we moved to the Reservation?
To be closer to the Navajos so we can help them more for what they need.
What has been the hardest part about moving here?
Family and friends and our old traditions that we did back in VA like go to the beach house every summer with our families.
What do you miss most about VA?
Family & friends and being able to stay at their houses and having fun.
What is the best thing about living here so far?
- going to Lake Powell
- going to Flagstaff
- I like doing distributions
- I like my teachers at Page
- and being able to have a lot of dogs!

What is a favorite moment, story, or memory you’d like to share from anytime in the past 2.5 years?
When the Powells and NeNe and PaPa came and surprised us at Christmas-time and meeting the Navajo people around here.
