If you missed it – last week, we shared a little bit about how we got here. We also announced that we are seeking to raise at least $10,000 before the end of the year to bring sustainability to our work here in Navajo Nation.
Your response has been AMAZING. We are already more than 50% towards our initial goal! Thank you SO much! If you would like to donate to this campaign, you can do so here.
This week, we want to keep celebrating God’s faithfulness by looking back & reflecting on what we have seen God do these last few years.
In the time that we’ve lived here – with God’s grace, we have been able to:
-
Develop deeper relationships with our neighbors.
We believe these connections are imperative in truly sharing what unconditional love looks like in a practical way.
-
Provide on-site support to incoming groups.
We’ve hosted church groups, nonprofit organizations, and small teams that have served the needs of our community.
-
Invest in our youth.
Living here has allowed us to have regular gatherings, summer camps, winter camps, and outdoor experiences including white water rafting, skiing, hiking trips, and campouts. We believe these activities encourage emotional, physical, and spiritual progress that is otherwise unavailable to the children in our area.
-
Improve our facilities.
Over the past couple of years – we have installed & repaired water lines, run power to our bunkhouse & kitchen facility, and worked to renovate a storage room into a fully-functional kitchen. This is imperative in the support of the groups that we host.
-
Fundraise for & install a commercial playground.
We love having a space that the children can play on & an area for our visiting groups to utilize during their events.
-
Establish Hidden Springs Mission as a 501(c)(3).
This process was a. long. one. It is extremely important for us to ensure that HSM is a non-profit business that functions as a legal organization both on a local & national level.
-
When COVID arrived in late March, we partnered with various nonprofit organizations.
We worked together to provide needed water & food to our neighbors. We also hosted various groups in our facilities who transported donated supplies to be distributed throughout the community. Because there is a lack of accommodations in the area, the Hidden Springs property provides a convenient place for groups & organizations to lodge.
This week we want to pause and take a moment to celebrate what God has done so far! It has truly been a hard, but rewarding journey.
As we celebrate God’s gifts of grace this Christmas, we invite you to invest in God’s work here on the Reservation.
We continue to look towards a sustainable future & our initial goal is to raise $10,000 between now and the end of the year. |
