The summer is flying by, and we kicked it off by flying to VA two days after school got out. We spent an amazing 15 days spending with family + friends, and it was just what we needed! So much love to all of you who carved time out of your busy schedules to catch up with us.
While we were in VA, we were able to have a Gathering at First Church in Newport News. We appreciate everyone who set up, prepared food, led worship, cleaned up, etc. that evening. We couldn’t have done it without you! We’re also extremely grateful to everyone who attended our get together. It was so good to see you and be able to share what God is doing on the Reservation.

PRAY
This may be a given, but we mean it! We have absolutely needed and craved your prayers ever since moving here + forming this nonprofit was a thought in our minds. Without God’s gracious guidance & your faithful prayers, we wouldn’t be here today. Thank you for praying, not only for HSM, but for our family as well. This has been the hardest year for all of us in many ways, and we appreciate you thinking of us + loving us from afar.
COME
We are in the midst of planning our schedules for 2020, and we would love for you to see the Reservation in person! If you have a group that would like come out + serve, if you would like to see what the needs are, or if you would like to come by for a visit – please let us know. We would love to share our home, the church + the property, and this community with you.
GIVE
We mentioned this at our Gathering & it’s 100% true. Hidden Springs Mission can function on the Reservation because of the people who support it. All donations given currently go to HSM’s work. A huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing partners!
In planning for our second year on the Reservation, our nonprofit has a goal of raising $30,000 to fund the following areas in 2019-2020:
VAN FUND – $11,000
This will go towards the purchase of a 15-passenger van that the nonprofit can use for transportation of children to + from youth group, camps, community events, etc. Bill & Grace are currently using their vehicles for transportation or borrow a 12-passenger from local friends when they can.
YOUTH MINISTRY – $2,500
HSM has started a youth group in the community that meets weekly. $2500 will cover the cost of snacks, equipment, events, and supplies.
SUMMER + WINTER CAMP – $6000
There are two camps that YPC (Young People for Christ) coordinates for churches on the Reservation. $6000 covers the cost of 20 children going to each camp plus transportation costs.
BI-MONTHLY COMMUNITY EVENTS – $2000
We have allotted approximately $300 for six community events such as a Fall Festival, a Christmas Event, a Spring Carnival, as well as several youth-focused get togethers (i.e. dinner + games, etc.).
COMMUNITY FUND – $5000
We have created this fund for: medical needs, home/automotive needs, funeral expenses, etc. for members of the community.
NONPROFIT OVERHEAD – $1200
Maintaining the website, communication/social media, prayer/business cards, fundraising events.
EMERGENCY FUND – $1500
This fund will cover any significant housing or property needs that should arise. For example: water lines, sewer issues, gas line repairs, etc.
Thanks to those of you who have already committed to partnering with us to reach this goal – which we can reach with 50•50. Our hope is to have 50 people commit to give $50/month in order to raise enough money to meet the nonprofit budget.

We hosted a summer campout earlier this week that included dinner, s’mores, games, a message from Bill, breakfast, swimming at the lake, and lunch in the park. We’re excited to continue growing our relationships with these kids!
We’d love for you to pray for the First Church group flying out from VA next week. We also have a few individuals coming in from CA, KS, and OK during this time. They’ll be here hosting a VBS as well as several community events, and we’re excited to help them as they love on our friends and neighbors.
